She received a degree in dance from The Naropa Institute and has studied with Baba Olatunji, Rose Marie Guiraud, C.K. Ganyo, and many other experts in African, Caribbean, Brazilian, and healing dance. Wyoma has also performed jazz, Middle Eastern, East Indian, improvisational, and modern dance. Her first performance group, which she cofounded, was People of the Sun, a jazz theater workshop. She is currently the director of DAMBALLA, a dance company in Boulder, Colorado.
