Author:
Stephen and Ondrea Levine
Stephen
Levine is a poet and teacher of guided meditation healing techniques.
He and his wife and spiritual partner, Ondrea, have counseled the dying
and their loved ones for more than 30 years. Stephen Levine's bestselling
books Healing into Life and Death; A Gradual Awakening; and A Year to
Live are considered classics in the field of conscious living and dying.
He is also the coauthor, with Ondrea, of the acclaimed To Love and Be
Loved; and Who Dies? The Levine's work is said to stretch from the most
painful experiences of the human spectrum to the furthest point on the
human horizon, from hell to heaven, from pain to ease, from our ongoing
sense of loss to the legacy of our unending interconnectedness. Their
experiential "Conscious Living / Conscious Dying" workshops are a meditative
investigation of what it means to be fully alive, cultivating the qualitities
which heal the mind and heart, exploring the nature of what it is that
dies. Presently Stephen and Ondrea live in the high mountains of the Southwest;
attempting to practice what they preach in the silence of the deep woods,
seeking the healing they took birth for. They no longer have a telephone
or do individual counseling as their energies, for now, are mostly directed
inward. To continue their work they have created Warm Rock Tapes as a
separate business, which also distributes past productions, to share their
guided meditations and talks from the few times a year they go out to
teach, but they are not available directly.

Thirty
years ago, two spiritual seekers met at a workshop on conscious dying.
What happened next is the extraordinary foundation for To Love and Be
Loved- a life-changing workshop on what it means to be alive and in
love. Together ever since that first day, Stephen and Ondrea Levine
poured all of the wisdom, compassion, and courage they gained from their
work with the suffering and grief-stricken into the mystery of their
own relationship. The result is a beautiful, unexpected unfolding: a
teaching that transcends the anguish of existence to show us the way
to God - through the darkest nights of our most intimate relationships.
In the rich and forbidding depths of our personal pain, the Levines
teach, lies the essence of intimacy - not only with one another, but
with God. This is why true commitment requires us to "swim across the
reservoir of each others' grief."
THE
HARDEST YOGA:
Why
are so few yogis and mystics committed to a human partner? The Levines
suggest that it's because they haven't recognized the profound value
of so high a practice as the difficult yoga of partnership. Our intimate
relationships, they teach, actually contain a complete blueprint for
spiritual realization. On To Love and Be Loved, they demonstrate how
to decipher and use this priceless map. This program brings you the
crowning insights from these pioneering teachers - over seven hours
of useful exercises, meditations, and practical suggestions on five
information-packed cassettes. Out of the crucible of their own experience,
Stephen and Ondrea Levine point a proven way to true transformation
- through the spiritual challenge of your own relationship. They lead
you beyond psychological explanations and show how couples together
can immerse themselves in the "ocean of compassion" - where you will
discover how to overcome the fear that closes your heart and replace
it with mercy: the key to creativity, freedom, and love. Through honest,
real-life sharing, To Love and Be Loved teaches you how to discover
the greatest gift of all: forgiveness - for yourself and your lover.
