Numerology: and The Divine Triangle
Faith Javane Dusty Bunker

From the Publisher:
At last a truly comprehensive and authoritative text on numerology! Numerology and the Divine Triangle embodies the life work of Faith Javane, one of America's most respected writers and teachers of numerology and her student and co-author, Dusty Banker, a teacher and columnist on metaphysical topics in her own right.

[This is an excellent numerology book! It teaches the basics but also relates each number to the tarot, and astrology. Great for the more esoteric understanding of your Destiny. Probably my very favorite book! Mine is taped, tattered and torn!]

Your Days Are Numbered

[My first book - so it's very sentimental... Excellent book and remarkably thorough. I would recommend this book for anyone wanting to know all of the basics plus a whole lot more. A CLASSIC!]

Simple, fun, and brimming with insights and advice, this is a crystal-clear reference guide to the science and art of numerology.

[Excellent numerology book that focuses on the challenges in depth as well as covers the rest of the basics. Ellin also has the correspondences for each number; the colors, gems, foods, musical note etc.... for each vibration.]

Master Numbers: Cycles of Divine Order
Faith Javane

From the Publisher:
Never before have the master numbers - 11, 22, 33, through 99 - been examined in such depth and detail. Faith Javane, one of the most respected numerologists in the country, reveals the significance of these power indicators, both in our personal lives and in a historical and cosmic sense. She looks at the progression of the master numbers as the journey the soul takes as it seeks to master the different levels of understanding. Javane also analyzes the two single-digit numbers that, when added together, equal a master number, for example 2+9=11. These numbers within numbers "test" how well we have learned the lessons of the master numbers and whether we are ready to move on to the next level.

[This is one of the best books on Master Numbers I've found! Most books only gently cover 11, 22 and sometimes 33, but Faith Javane believes that we have evolved to a place where more of us can handle the intense frequencies of the higher Master Numbers. This is also a great book for those of you who are seeing repeated numbers (222, 555, 11:11) everywhere you look!]

The Life You Were Born to Live
Dan Millman

Annotation
The author of Way of the Peaceful Warrior, Sacred Journey of the Peaceful Warrior, and No Ordinary Moments presents his Life-Purpose System, a modern method based on ancient wisdom for finding new meaning, purpose, and direction that has been taught to thousands and can generate a quantum leap in self-knowledge.

[An excellent book on the "Destiny" (birth date total)! Dan Millman goes in-depth to explain your multi-faceted life purpose based on the double-digit total of your birth date. He offers a slightly new way of adding up the Destiny - but even the explanations of the core-number Destinys are very informative and useful! I like the depth of the descriptions and the appendix in the back with the birth dates and 'Birth Numbers' for thousands of well-known people!]

Numerology, the Power in Numbers
A Right and Left Brain Approach
Ruth Drayer

[This is a good beginner's book. One that I found to be very easy to read and follow while also teaching the fundamentals and staying true to the Pythagorean methods that have been handed down from the "elders" of numerology. In other words, this is not an 'ego' book - filled with newly invented methods and terminology to confuse and deter the new student.]

Numerology the Romance in Your Name
Juno Jordan

[Juno Jordan is one of the great "elders" of modern numerology and she has a considerable following. Her technique differs slightly from the methods you find in the above numerology books (and what you find written by some of the earliest numerology "elders" - see Mrs. L. Dow Balliett below) in that she called the name total our "Destiny" and our birth date total our "Birth Force". She considered the name total as representing "what we must be or do" in life and the Birth Force was "what you have or are", your natural abilities. This is just the opposite to what most other books teach, however, when you read her complete teachings, the way she describes each makes perfect sense and allows for the other perspective too. All of the other aspects of her numerology teachings are consistent with the "common" perspecitve and offer a lifetime of numerology research that the avid seeker will want to soak up.]

Your Right Action Number
Juno Jordan

[Another wonderful Juno Jordan book! This one is an invaluable resource for anyone wanting to better understand the Personal Cycles: Personal Year in combination with Personal Month. There is also an added section in the back entitled, "Autobiography of a Numerologist" and this is a MUST read! She is, after all the daughter of Dr. Julia Seton, a student of Mrs. L. Dow Balliett (the eldest elder!).]

From the Publisher Your birthday number is more than simply the day you were born. In fact, it's one of the things that makes you unique. And it can have a profound influence on your life. In Birthday Numerology well-known numerologist Dusty Bunker and psychic counselor Victoria Knowles combine their knowledge of numerology, psychic development and symbolism to explain the significance of birthday numbers. [An excellent book about the meaning of your birthday number. MUCH better than any of those newer big-press books with all of the colorful pictures! Beware of flashy books that lure you with colorful "fluff" :) ]

This next section offers books that I consider to be excellent for more in-depth understanding of numerology and the esoteric principals behind it. They are "must have" books for the serious numerology student, but may be more information than the average seeker is looking for.

Voyager Tarot: Way of the Great Oracle
James Wanless

From the Publisher Voyager Tarot, Way Of The Great Oracle is the companion book to the highly acclaimed Voyager Tarot Deck. It brings together symbols and signs so that anyone can become their own oracle and realize their highest dreams.

[A great book (from the Card and deck set) that is jam-packed with correspondences galore!]

Hi friends!
Due to popular request, I have compiled a 'growing' bibliography of a selection of books that I have found to be the BEST I've read on the subject of Numerology and a few related topics. There are many many numerology books out there (I have most of them on my bookshelves!!) and over the years I've weeded through them to find the golden-nuggets. I continue to buy every new and interesting book that comes out, but sadly, the really "good" ones (containing something more substantial than the rest - or communicated in a particularly effective way) are few and far between (interestingly, the very BEST books are the older ones - written by the "elders" of numerology!).

So, above are the books that I could find at Barnes and Noble.com that are on my bookshelf and that I use as reference most often. This is not a list of every possible numerology book available - just my favorites - and I tell you why in red below the titles of most of them. I hope this assists you in saving some time and a lot of money (!) on books that don't really measure up. Please note: I obviously haven't read every single book ever written on the subject so just because it's not listed here, does not mean that it's not a good book. If you are wondering about a specific title not listed here, please ask me about it. If I've read it, I'll give you my opinion and if I haven't I might have to go buy it! (I can't resist - I have a 5 Birth Name Expression!) Have fun in your Quest! - angie
